Spirituality

Something of spirituality pervades all that we do and write about: our relationship with God is expressed and struggled with in debate about sexuality, as in prayer and reflections on belief and unbelief.

Jim Cotter asks 'what kind of God do I really believe in?' - and the answer surely lies as much in our actions as in our words - in health care, perhaps, or in our relationship to our environment (and here too).

Issues of religious tolerance and multiculturalism have long been of concern to liberal Christians as has the relationship between religious and scientific thought.

Nor can we escape those issues which have challenged the limits of faithful Christianity from its inception, not least suffering and dying.

We also have a number of hymns, prayers and litugies written by MCU members.

Books on spirituality and worship are available through the MCU Bookshop

Wits liked to repeat that the English, since they lacked any spiritual instinct, had invented cricket in order to give themselves a sense of eternity.
