Jesus is Green - You don't have to be Right to be Christian. This is a club for discussion of issues pertaining to eco-theology, Green values and Christ's values. This club is especially for those who find their discipleship under Jesus leads them toward the Green, liberal, or even radical understandings of justice and harmony. But those who think this questionable are welcome to join, as well. |

| Progressive Theology (Large)
What is a progressive Christian? We defy definitions, but typically a progressive Christian will agree with many of the following ideas: * Inevitability of human progress * Universal salvation * Equality of religions (religious pluralism) * Primacy of personal experience * Rejection of literal biblical interpretations * Emphasis on the humanity of Christ * Right of individuals * Emphasis and peace and justice * Indifference to strict doctrine * God is immanent (present in and around all things) * Traditional forms of theism are optional Progressive Christians often enjoy the theologies of Niebuhr, Tillich, Spong, Borg and cheerfully debate the theologies of Calvin, Edwards, Barth and any modern-day evangelical fundamentalist. |
| Theology & Religion (Large, very busy)
A progressive place for the discussion of Christian theology and comparative religion, with special emphasis on catholic theology and issues. For the purpose of this list, "catholic" is understood in the widest, fullest and most comprehensive way. As Augustine defined it, being "catholic" means to experience an openness to the truth wherever it may be found.
